Papari Valley
Papari Valley Winery is a small, family-owned winery in the heart of Kakheti, Georgia, producing exceptional wines with passion and precision since 2015. Located on the rolling slopes of the Gombori Mountains, overlooking the famous Alazani Valley, Papari Valley is synonymous with craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation in the Georgian wine world.
Founder Nukri Kurdadze, a former physicist and former representative of Pernod Ricard in Russia, followed his dream after retirement: to create a winery that combines traditional Georgian techniques with modern innovation. Together with his son Sandro, he developed a small, organic vineyard focused on low yields, high quality, and natural winemaking.

Organic and Sustainable Vineyards
The vineyards of Papari Valley cover 9.3 hectares and are fully certified organic. Situated in the windy hills of Kakheti, the grapes benefit from fertile soils and a mild climate—a perfect combination for healthy, aromatic harvests. Saperavi and Rkatsiteli, two iconic grape varieties of the region, form the core of production, accounting for 80% and 20% of the vineyards, respectively. At Papari, only natural yeasts and organic cultivation methods are used, entirely free of synthetic pesticides or herbicides. The name “Papari”—referring to a horse’s mane—is a poetic tribute to the rolling hills where the vineyards are located.
Traditional Qvevri Winemaking
At Papari Valley Winery, all wines are produced using the ancient Kakhetian Qvevri method, where grapes are fermented in large clay vessels called Qvevri. With as many as 21 Qvevri, the Kurdadze family employs a unique terrace system, allowing the wine to flow from one level to the next by gravity. This minimizes mechanical intervention and ensures a pure, natural wine experience.
Wine Range
Papari Valley produces a wide range of wines, from dry Saperavi wines to naturally sweet varieties and refined amber wines from Rkatsiteli. Due to the low intervention approach and the use of wild yeasts, the wines are rich in aroma, texture, and complexity, making each bottle an authentic expression of Kakheti’s terroir.
