NOA Wines
Located in the enchanting Areni region of Armenia, NOA Winery is synonymous with artisanal craftsmanship, rich tradition, and exceptional quality. This remarkable winery was founded by Jakob Schuler of St. Jakobskellerei Schuler & Cie AG Schwyz, one of Switzerland’s oldest and most prestigious wineries. His passion for wine and curiosity about the origins of this ancient craft led him to the Caucasus, the birthplace of wine, in 2013. After numerous vineyard visits and extensive tastings, Schuler decided to establish NOA Winery in the Vayots Dzor province, a region renowned for its historical winemaking traditions and ideal terroir.
By 2017, the company had acquired two of the most prestigious vineyards in Rind and Aghavnadzor, now recognized as some of the best-managed vineyards in Armenia. These high-altitude plots, situated between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level, allow for slow, controlled grape ripening and give NOA’s wines their characteristic freshness, elegance, and refinement.

High-Altitude Vineyards and Unique Terroir
NOA’s vineyards are located in the prestigious microzones of Rind and Aghavnadzor, at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,500 meters above sea level. This high-altitude location allows for a slow ripening of the grapes, preserving their natural freshness while fully developing their complexity. The exceptional terroir, combined with the expertise and dedication of the NOA team, results in wines that are both elegant and refined, clearly expressing the unique character of the Areni region.
In these vineyards, NOA cultivates a wide variety of indigenous grape varieties, including Areni, Voskehat, Khatoun Kharji, Tozot, Milagh, and Areni Blanc. By using these rare and distinctive grapes, NOA creates wines that are not only unique but also an authentic reflection of Armenian terroir.
Craftsmanship and Tradition in Winemaking
Under the expert guidance of winemaker Pavel Vartanyan, NOA Winery produces wines that perfectly showcase the unique qualities of Armenia’s native grape varieties. From the careful selection of grapes in the vineyard to vinification in barrique barrels, Pavel Vartanyan oversees every step of the winemaking process. NOA Winery follows a low-intervention philosophy, allowing natural fermentation to take precedence without artificial acceleration. This respect for natural processes ensures wines that are pure, authentic, and expressive.
