Wine People
Wine People is a unique wine project by Teliani Collection that provides small wineries and independent winemakers in Georgia with an international platform. The project highlights the diversity and richness of the Georgian winemaking tradition and tells the personal stories of the winemakers behind each bottle.
Georgia, a country where viticulture has played a significant role for over 8,000 years, is home to more than 500 indigenous grape varieties. Many of these grape varieties are now rare and are cultivated only in small vineyards and family cellars. The Wine People project is dedicated to bringing these forgotten grapes and the unique wines made from them back into the spotlight for wine enthusiasts worldwide.
Key Features of Wine People
Reviving Rare Grapes
The project focuses on breathing new life into nearly forgotten grape varieties, many of which were lost during the Soviet era. Examples include Tetra, Kundza, and Tavkveri, which, thanks to the project, are reclaiming their place in vineyards and on the global wine map.
Traditional and Modern Winemaking Techniques
At Wine People, centuries-old methods such as the qvevri—a traditional underground clay vessel—are combined with modern vinification techniques. This approach allows the wines to retain their pure, expressive flavors while meeting the highest quality standards.
Collaboration with Small Winegrowers
The initiative supports small, family-run vineyards and emphasizes authentic, local wine traditions. The result is wines that not only reflect the character of the grape but also tell the story of the region and the passion of the winemaker.

Annual Collections with Unique Themes
Each Wine People collection has its own theme and a limited number of bottles:
The first collection: exceptional handcrafted qvevri wines from Bolnisi, a region with an ancient winemaking tradition.
The second collection: a tribute to female winemakers, featuring remarkable wines made from hand-picked grapes from various Georgian regions. Here you will find wines such as Jghia, Shavkapito, Dzelshavi, and Mukhamtsvane.
The third collection, “Rare Georgian”: dedicated to nearly forgotten Georgian grape varieties, with the aim of reintroducing these unique viticultural treasures to wine enthusiasts around the world.
Every bottle from Wine People tells the story of the winemaker, making each wine not only a taste experience but also an introduction to the passion, tradition, and expertise of its creators.
Artisanal Quality and Limited Production
Wine People wines are carefully selected for character, originality, and authenticity. Production is always limited, so each bottle represents an exclusive piece of Georgian wine culture. Handcrafted techniques, traditional qvevri shaping, and attention to terroir and grape variety make these wines truly unique.
A World of Discovery for Wine Enthusiasts
For wine lovers and collectors, Wine People is a journey through the heart of Georgia. The project combines centuries-old tradition with modern craftsmanship and offers a rare opportunity to taste the hidden gems of Georgian winemaking.
The Teliani Collection and the Wine People project demonstrate that small wineries and independent winemakers can have a global impact. Every glass tells a story, every bottle is a work of art, and every collection is a celebration of Georgian wine passion and diversity.
