Founded in 1982 and modernized in 2012, Vaziani Winery is a leading Georgian winery that uniquely combines tradition with modern technology. During the restructuring of the winery, investments were made in state-of-the-art Italian machinery and stainless steel tanks, creating a fully integrated production chain. From grape selection to the creation of the final product, all processes fully comply with international ISO 22000:2018 standards. The winery builds upon Georgia’s rich winemaking traditions and is renowned for its premium quality and innovative approach.

Makashvili Wine Cellar – A Historical Heritage Within Vaziani

A remarkable feature of Vaziani Winery is the Makashvili Wine Cellar, which originates from the Makashvili estate dating back to the second half of the 15th century. During the 2012 restructuring of the winery, more than 200 Qvevri vessels were discovered underground at Vaziani, 39 of which were preserved intact. Today, these centuries-old Qvevri form the heart of the winery’s traditional winemaking process. Wines are carefully produced using the authentic Qvevri method and released in limited quantities, earning international recognition and acclaim.

Vineyards – The Source of Quality

Vaziani Winery boasts extensive, carefully tended vineyards in Gremi and Eniseli, located in the renowned Kindzmarauli microzone of the Kakheti region, the heart of Georgian winemaking tradition. Here, grapes are meticulously hand-harvested at the moment they reach their optimal ripeness, usually between late September and early October. This precise timing ensures that each grape retains its maximum flavor, aroma, and potential.

Vaziani’s vineyards are rich in traditional Georgian grape varieties such as the deeply colored and powerful Saperavi and the fresh, balanced Rkatsiteli, which have been cultivated in this region for centuries. In addition, rare and unique varieties are grown, including Kisi, Khikhvi, Krakhuna, Tsitska, Usakhelouri, as well as international varieties such as Chardonnay and Kakheti Mtsvane. This combination of traditional and distinctive grapes allows the creation of wines with unparalleled complexity, character, and authenticity.

The region benefits from a unique combination of climate, soil types, and microclimates, with warm, sunny days and cool nights that ensure a perfect balance of sugar, acidity, and aromatic compounds in the grapes.
