Taste profiles
The most important aspect in choosing wine is the flavor profile associated with a wine. A taste profile can help you choose a wine that is entirely to your taste, but which also matches the taste profile of the dishes that you and your guests are going to eat. But how do you put together your taste profile for wine? Drinkrituals is happy to help you choose and enjoy a good glass of wine. We do this on the basis of a sophisticated taste profile that fits well with your preferences per wine. We naturally create that profile on the basis of our own wines, which all originate in the Caucasus and in Armenia or Georgia.
What good is a flavor profile
A wine flavor profile not only helps you choose a wine that you and your guests drink; even if you are at a party or drink where you can choose from wine, you know exactly on the basis of which of your preferences you can make a choice. You can also use a taste profile in a restaurant. Based on your wine taste profile, you can tell the sommelier or wine connoisseur in the restaurant exactly what you like, but also what you don’t like.

How to find your wine taste profile
Choosing a favorite wine or a suitable wine for your dinner, a party or in a restaurant can be difficult. Therefore, you can choose your preferred wine based on a taste profile. When choosing your favorite wine based on a taste profile, you must start from a number of elements that determine the wine. These are universal elements that can make or break a wine:
- Intensity: Some wines come in like a bomb, while for other wines you need to sample a few times to find the right flavor profile for the wine.
- Layering: How does the wine put together, which taste notes follow each other?
- Tannin content: Tannin is only found in red wine and provides the sour, sometimes “pulling” taste to the wine.
- Sugars: Depending on the grape variety used and makes the wine sweeter or “drier”. White wines, for example, contain little residual sugars.
- Acidity: Pleasant for some, less for others. Yet for many, the “acidity” of a wine determines their taste profile for wine. In which they recognize the preference for citrus fruit.
- Feeling in the mouth: A wine should also be nice to drink. This is a purely personal experience.
Choosing the right profile
You then choose the right taste profile by answering a series of questions. A seller or wine connoisseur knows exactly which wine you like based on a number of questions. For example, do you prefer citrus fruit to tropical fruit, whether or not dark chocolate, whether or not savory food or food that is spicy spicy. We are happy to help you with this!
