Buy Armenian white wine
Armenian white wines are worth trying. And that doesn’t just apply to the experts. Even as a casual wine lover you can surprise friends and acquaintances with the large selection of Armenian white wines from Drinkrituals. Characteristic for the taste of Armenian white wine is the terroir where most grape varieties grow. Armenia is a mountainous country, many of which mountains are ancient volcanoes. This also affects the Armenian soil, which is also full of unique minerals and nutrients that benefit the character of the grape.
Types of Armenian white wine
Of course, there are different types of Armenian white wines on the market. As with white wines from other parts of the world, there is a difference between sweet, dry or semi-dry depending on the production method and grape varieties. A number of grape varieties that you should definitely take into account:
- Kangun: delivers fresh white wines, in which the connoisseur will recognize notes of quince, flowers and honey.
- Voskehat: also called ‘golden grape’. This Armenian grape variety produces light white wines and is also widely used in blends. In Azerbaijan this grape is called Khari.
- Garan Dmak: literally ‘fat tail’. An ancient Armenian breed from Armavir. The bunches give a beautiful grape that is used for many table wines, but also sweeter dessert wines and brandies.
Finding an ideal combination
A good wine is pleasant. Whether you enjoy a delicious dinner, want to drink a fine wine with a movie or series or want to serve a nice wine at an evening with friends: a wine that tastes good and also impresses is important. Usually it is not that difficult to combine white wine with dishes or occasions. White wine is very accessible and in most cases is not too heavy. But do not forget that there are hundreds of varieties of white wines. Finding the right flavor combination can be quite difficult. Including a wine-food combination. Do you need help with that? Then we will be happy to put it together for you and your group.
