Wine House
Zorah is the brainchild of Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian who pursued his academic journey in Venice and Milan before embarking on a successful career in the fashion world. Despite being rooted in the pillars of tradition, innovation, and excellence, Gharibian’s life took an unexpected turn towards his true passion in the 2000s: wine. Seeing only one path forward, he returned to the land of his ancestors. Amidst majestic, snow-covered mountains, he planted vineyards at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level in the picturesque village of Rind. This village is situated in the heart of Yeghegnadzor, the primary grape-growing region in Armenia. Here, he dedicated himself to creating wines that embody his philosophy: contemporary yet infused with deep-rooted traditional influences.
Zorah’s extensive, ungrafted vineyard spans 40 hectares and rests on rocky, limestone-rich soils. Carefully selected indigenous grape varieties, originating from abandoned vineyards near a 13th-century monastery, thrive in this environment. The region experiences long, dry summers characterized by intense sunlight and high daytime temperatures, contrasting with cool nights. These climatic nuances result in an extended growing season that stretches until late October.
