Sopho’s Wine Estate is a unique wine company founded by the Georgian-Dutch couple, Yvo and Sofia. Situated in the heart of Georgia’s Kakheti wine region, in the enchanting microzone of Mukuzani, they have acquired a vineyard and a charming house. With great love and passion, they have beautifully renovated the house and built a magnificent wine cellar equipped with qvevri vessels. In their first year, they started producing wines using stainless steel, following traditional vinification methods. However, the following year, they installed qvevri vessels and began producing wines according to the revered Georgian tradition. This led to the creation of their exquisite Rkatsiteli Qvevri and Saperavi Qvevri wines.
The craftsmanship of Sopho’s Wine Estate has quickly gained recognition and accolades. At the recent International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in Georgia, they proudly received four bronze medals for their second harvest year. Moreover, at the prestigious Wine Expo in Tbilisi, alongside a captivating wine competition, they clinched three additional medals and even earned a special sommelier award. These achievements bear testament to the exceptional quality and appreciation of their wines.
