Description
The Wine House
Voskevaz Winery is located in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia in the village of the same name, “Voskevaz”, which means “golden forest” in Armenian. The foothill area of the highest mountain in Armenia-Aragats is amazingly beautiful and diverse, and the country has preserved cultural layers of ancient Armenian civilization. Just a few kilometers from the winery, on the edge of the picturesque gorge of the river Kasakh, there are the remains of the “Badali Jam” church built in the 5th-7th centuries. Parts of karases (Amphoras of Armenian clay) were found nearby, which were dug into the ground and used to age the wine. Voskevaz Winery was founded in 1932. With all modern innovations, it still carefully preserved many of its authentic elements, including the buildings.
