Brandy is made in different ways in many countries. Each country has its own vision and production method, which means that many different types of brandy are available. Well-known producer countries are France and Spain, but brandy is also made in Germany and Italy. A country that may be less known, but should not be missing from the top, is Armenia. As one of the oldest wine and brandy producers in the world, they have centuries of experience in producing brandy of the highest quality. The largest and by far most famous product is Ararat Brandy. What types of Ararat brandy are there?
In our collection we offer various types of Ararat Brandy, varying in taste, but also with special stories. We’ll tell you more about our Ararat brandies below.
- Ararat Ani: This brandy is named after the ancient capital of Armenia and has matured for 6 years. In this strain, fresh and sour come together. The taste palette combines light citrus notes with the sweetness of vanilla and almond. The flavors flow smoothly and in the aftertaste you can recognize the typical sourness. The alcohol percentage is 40%.
- Ararat Dvin: Has a special story. For example, this brandy was given as a gift to Winston Churchill by Joseph Stalin during the Yalta conference. The brandy is full of flavor thanks to a maturation of at least 10 years. The taste has notes of cloves, dried fruit and hazelnut. The alcohol percentage is 50%.
- Ararat Apricot: The Ararat Apricot is made exclusively from native Armenian grapes and aged in Caucasian oak barrels. This gives the brandy its typical Armenian flavor. The flavor character is rich and is accompanied by intense aromas of ripe fruit, nuts, vanilla and a soft aftertaste of apricot. The alcohol percentage is 35%.
- Ararat Akthamar: This 10-year-old brandy has an intense flavor and is now on the rise in Europe. Tones of fresh honey, hazelnut and oak bass are characteristics of this species. The taste can be described as soft, but it builds up slowly. The alcohol percentage is 40%.
