Thaya Müller Thurgau 2021

Thaya Müller Thurgau is a delicious Czech white wine made from the grape Müller-Thurgau. The wine comes directly from the Morava wine region, subregion Znojemská. Although thirty-one-year-old Jakub Smrčka does not come from a winemaking family, he has been close to wine since childhood. Eventually, he turned this relationship into a lifelong passion. He produced his first wine in 2011 when he was only 20 years old. Although the fact that he has a job as a hobby sounds a bit like a cliché, for Jakub it is an undeniable fact. The Müller Thurgau contains an alcohol percentage of 12.0% and is one of his beautiful creations.

Flavor character Thaya Müller Thurgau

The Müller Thurgau is straw yellow in the glass with green highlights. Fruity characters are complemented by spiciness and minerality. The notes of pomelo and red orange dominate here. The taste matches the smell and has a long finish. This dry wine goes perfectly with a piece of trout on the grill. In short, a perfect addition to all your occasions.

Description

Winery

The Thaya winery is located on the edge of the village of Havraníky, not far from the impressive stream of the river Dyje. This river was already famous in the period before the Celts. The people of that time called it with the Indo-European word “dheu” or “flow”. Over the next hundreds or perhaps thousands of years, it maintained its reputation as a river that divides, but also unites, nations. With its thermoregulatory effect, the river, together with the cold wind from the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, gives the local wines an unmistakable spicy taste and fullness.

In addition to the centuries of experience of the ancestors, the winery also owes its success to ideal natural and climatic conditions. Sunny days alternate with cold nights in the vineyards. As a result, the grapes ripen more slowly, but retain their aromatic substances and achieve high quality.
