Masahiro Distillery, founded in 1883 by Shobun Higa, son of Shozoku Higa, the royal chef of the Ryukyu Kingdom, is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa. Thanks to Higa’s influence and network, the distillery obtained a license to produce Awamori, Okinawa’s traditional distilled spirit.
