Koncho and Company LLC was founded on September 18, 2001, by JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli and has deep roots in Georgian winemaking tradition. The company focuses on producing and selling wines of exceptional quality. The name “Koncho” is derived from the ancient Georgian word for “cross” and is also the origin of the Konchoshvili family name. The family itself has a rich winemaking history that dates back to 1737, when Kakhaber Konchoshvili, the royal winemaker of King Teimuraz II of Kakheti, established his first wine cellar. In this cellar, traditional Kakhetian wines and chacha were produced. The family wine cellar remained active until the end of the 20th century, first in the village of Sabue and later in Kvareli. The founding of Koncho and Company LLC was a continuation of this centuries-old winemaking tradition, with the aim of preserving authentic Georgian wine culture and providing wine lovers around the world with products of the highest quality. The company owns vineyards in the famous microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli. These vineyards are located on fertile soils that were once irrigated by the Duruji River. The presence of black slate and a high concentration of carbonates at a depth of 8-10 meters below the surface contribute to the unique character and distinctive taste of Koncho and Company’s wines, which hold an important place in the Georgian wine industry.
