Chateau Kefraya Myst Rosé 2022

Château Kefraya Myst Rosé is a refined and elegant Lebanese rosé, originating from the sun-drenched Bekaa Valley, Lebanon’s most prestigious wine region. The wine is made from the following grape varieties: Tempranillo, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsaut, with grapes hand-harvested at the perfect moment of ripeness. To fully express its delicate fruit character and elegance, the rosé is produced using a special vinification method. Part of the juice undergoes brief skin contact using the Saignée method, creating a soft, subtle color and a light structure. At the same time, another portion of the grapes is directly pressed using a pneumatic press, a technique that preserves freshness and pure fruit aromas. By combining these two methods, a rosé is created that is both refined and lively.

After pressing, the must undergoes static settling at low temperatures to achieve clarity and purity. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a carefully controlled temperature of 14–16°C, contributing to the wine’s delicate and aromatic profile. The rosé is then stabilized using proteins and tartaric acid, entirely without oak treatment, ensuring the purity of the fruit is preserved. With an alcohol content of approximately 13%, the wine strikes a beautiful balance between freshness and body.

Château Kefraya Myst Rosé embodies the elegance and joie de vivre of Lebanon: a rosé where sun, passion, and craftsmanship come together in every glass.

Flavor Character Chateau Kefraya Myst Rosé

Château Kefraya Myst Rosé displays a delicate pastel pink color that exudes elegance and finesse. On the nose, fresh aromas of red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and red currants emerge. On the palate, the wine is fresh, lively, and well-balanced, with soft fruitiness and a subtle minerality. It embodies the Lebanese joie de vivre—vibrant, generous, and refined.

This rosé is an excellent companion to light dishes, salads, grilled vegetables, and seafood such as shrimp, calamari, or grilled fish. It also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean cuisine featuring olives, feta, or fresh herbs. Thanks to its refined character, it is equally enjoyable on its own, as an aperitif on a sunny day. Serve Château Kefraya Myst Rosé well chilled, at 8–10°C, to fully appreciate its freshness and elegant aromas.

Description

Winery

Located in the beautiful West Beqaa Valley, Château Kefraya has been the proud possession of the Bustros family for generations. The château, built beginning in 1946, rests on an artificial hill that was used centuries ago by the Romans to observe the movements of their troops. Founder and visionary Michel de Bustros undertook large-scale efforts to establish vineyards on these magnificent slopes. The first vines were planted in 1951, and despite the challenges of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), Château Kefraya began producing its own wines in 1979, made entirely from grapes from its own vineyards and vinified in its own cellar.

In the early 1980s, the wines “Les Coteaux de Kefraya” 1982 and 1983 won their first international awards, after which Château Kefraya began exporting to France. In 1997, American wine critic Robert Parker rated the Comte de M 1996 at 91/100, calling it “an incredible achievement for Lebanon.” Today, Château Kefraya’s wines are available in more than 40 countries across five continents.
