Baia’s Wine Tsitska – Tsolikouri – Krakhuna 2020

This white wine is made in the Imereti region: Baia’s Wine Tsitska – Tsolikouri – Krakhuna 2019. The wine is a fine blend between grapes Tsitska (20%), Tsolikouri (60%) and Krakhuna (20%). This region has a cooler climate than in the famous wine region of Kakheti. They ferment wine in the traditional way. But instead of qvevris that are placed in the ground, they use churi that are placed in the open air. This is closed with a layer of clay on the lid.

When tasting the wine, the aromas of apricot and citrus come to the fore. These notes ensure a full-bodied dry wine with a pleasant aftertaste. It is an accessible wine that is full of flavors and aromas. A very suitable wine to get acquainted with the beautiful wines from Georgia for the first time.

Combine the wine with fish, chicken, grilled vegetables or fresh (goat) cheese. Serve this preferably at 10-12C. The alcohol percentage is 13.5%. You are assured of a wine complex flavors.

About the maker

Baia’s Wine owes its name to its maker: Baia Abuladze. She grew up in a small Georgian village where her family had been making wine for generations. Although she studied in the capital Tbilisi, she later came back to Obcha to make wine there. And with success, her wines are an absolute must.
