Chateau Kefraya Rouge 2018
Château Kefraya Rouge is an elegant and characterful red wine from the renowned Bekaa Valley in Lebanon — one of the oldest and most prestigious wine regions in the world. Situated at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level on an ancient tectonic fault line, this valley offers a unique microclimate and limestone-rich soils that together produce exceptional, high-quality grapes. This sublime wine is crafted from a carefully selected blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. The old vines yield low quantities, resulting in grapes with remarkable concentration and aromatic intensity. After a manual harvest, the grapes are vinified separately to bring out the unique character of each variety. The wine then matures for over twelve months in oak barrels, adding depth, complexity, and a refined structure. The result is a wine with a full, rounded body, elegant tannins, and an alcohol content of around 14%, perfectly balanced by its vibrant fruitiness and subtle spicy nuances.
Château Kefraya Rouge is the ideal choice for lovers of rich, sophisticated red wines with a distinctly Mediterranean character and international allure — a true expression of Lebanese winemaking artistry.
Flavor character Chateau Kefraya Rouge
In the glass, the wine reveals a deep ruby-red color with a beautiful sheen. On the nose, you’ll discover aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and spicy notes of pepper, vanilla, and cedarwood. On the palate, it is elegant and complex, with silky tannins, a perfect balance between fruit and oak, and a long, refined finish. This Lebanese red wine pairs wonderfully with grilled red meats, lamb dishes, game, and mature cheeses. It also shines alongside stews or Mediterranean dishes seasoned with thyme, rosemary, and garlic. Serve Château Kefraya Rouge at a temperature of 16 to 18°C to allow its rich aromas to fully express themselves. The wine is already beautifully drinkable now but, thanks to its structure and balance, it can age gracefully for another 5 to 10 years in the bottle.

Description
Winery
The Chateau Kefraya winery is located in the Bekaa Valley, 1000 meters above sea level. This is the main wine region of Lebanon, where quite a lot of quality wines are created. Since the times of the Phoenicians, this area has been considered fertile and very suitable for grape growing and viticulture. The vines grow in the sun-drenched, non-irrigated vineyards, where the soil is very diverse and rich in Clay-limestone, chalk, sand and gravel soils. Compared to the rest of the country, the climate here is moderate. Significant temperature differences between day and night ensure slow development and perfect ripening of the grapes.
