Koncho Rkatsiteli Qvevri 2020
Ever heard of orange wine? That is understandable, since orange wines are unique to Georgia. But now you can also enjoy this wine in the Netherlands. The Koncho Rkatsiteli Qvevri from 2018 is that: the skins and the grapes are fermented in earthenware jars (Qvevri). Just as it has been done for centuries in the Caucasus.
Taste Character Koncho Rkatsiteli Qvevri
That production process therefore produces a very special taste: the wine is also aged for a year in oak barrels, which gives the wine more body. By using the Rkatsiteli grape, the wine gets a hint of fruit (apricot, quince, but also lemon) in combination with different types of nuts. A golden yellow wine, which is nevertheless soft and nice to the mouth.
