Zorah was founded by Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian who pursued his education in Venice and Milan before embarking on a successful career in fashion. His vision revolves around tradition, innovation, and a pursuit of perfection. In the early 2000s, however, he chose to follow his passion: winemaking. Gharibian saw only one path forward, and that led back to the land of his ancestors. He planted vineyards amidst majestic, snow-capped mountains at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, in the rustic village of Rind, located in the heart of Yeghegnadzor, the premier winemaking region of Armenia. Here, he dedicated himself to producing wines that blend his modern vision with deep-rooted traditions. The 40-hectare vineyard of Zorah, un-grafted and situated on rocky, limestone-rich soils, is planted with carefully selected indigenous grape varieties, sourced from abandoned vineyards near a 13th-century monastery. The area experiences long, dry summers with intense, clear sunlight and high daytime temperatures, which contrast with cool nights. This provides an extended growing season that lasts until the end of October.
