Wine House
Zorah was founded by Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian who pursued his studies in Venice and Milan before embarking on a successful career in the fashion industry. His foundation is built on the principles of tradition, innovation, and excellence. However, in the 2000s, he decided to follow his passion: wine. Gharibian saw only one path ahead, leading back to the land of his ancestors. He planted vineyards amidst impressive snow-covered mountains, at an elevation of 1,400 meters above sea level, in the small rural village of Rind, located in the heart of Yeghegnadzor, the primary grape-growing region of Armenia. Here, he dedicated himself to creating wines that reflect his philosophy: contemporary yet deeply rooted in traditional influences.
Zorah’s 40-hectare, ungrafted vineyard is situated on rocky, calcareous soils. Carefully selected native grape varieties, sourced from abandoned vineyards near a nearby 13th-century monastery, are planted in this vineyard. The region experiences long, dry summers characterized by remarkably clear sunlight and high daytime temperatures contrasting with cool nights. This creates an extensive growing season that extends until late October.
