Zorah’s very first wine, “Karası,” is crafted from the indigenous Areni grape, grown on ungrafted vines at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level. Armenian Areni is inherently unique, being considered one of the oldest grape varieties in the world. Karasi undergoes natural fermentation in rough concrete tanks and is aged for an extended period in traditional amphorae, hence the name “Karası,” which translates to ‘from amphorae.’ The wine matures in these traditional amphorae for one year. Before leaving the winery, it further ages in bottles for six months. Zorah Karasi Magnum 1.5L is renowned for its balanced character, boasting an alcohol content of 14%.
