Winiveria Saperavi 2021

Experience the unique charm of Georgian wine with the Winiveria Saperavi. This refined dry red wine originates from Kakheti, the birthplace of Georgian winemaking tradition. The ideal climate and rich, fertile soil of this region produce grapes of exceptional quality. The Winiveria Saperavi is made entirely from the Saperavi grape, an ancient and beloved variety that symbolizes Georgia. What truly makes this wine unique is its traditional production process. The wine is aged in Qvevris, large clay vessels buried in the ground. In these vessels, the pressed grapes, including stems, skins, and seeds, are carefully fermented. This process, which lasts about two weeks, involves daily hand stirring of the wine. Afterward, the wine continues to age, first in the Qvevri and then in oak barrels, which contributes to its refined taste and structure. The result is an unfiltered wine of extraordinary quality. This excellence has been awarded the highest distinction at the Georgian National Wine Competition. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, the Winiveria Saperavi offers a full, rich body and a complex, deep flavor.

Description

Winery

Winiveria is a leading winery with a rich history and a passion for traditional Georgian winemaking. The story began in 2005 with the construction of the first Marani (wine cellar) in the charming village of Vardisubani, located in the Telavi region of Kakheti, the heart of Georgia’s wine industry. In 2006, Winiveria completed the construction of the Marani and hosted its first Rtveli (grape harvest), laying the foundation for the production of authentic Georgian wines. The winery specializes in crafting wines using the Kvevri method, a traditional Georgian technique that has been practiced for thousands of years. At the same time, the company embraces modern European methods to offer a diverse range of wines. In 2008, Winiveria took the next step by starting the construction of Chateau Mere, one of Georgia’s first chateaus. The project was completed in 2011 and has since become one of the most beloved destinations in Kakheti, known for its hospitality and unique wine experiences.

In 2014, Winiveria expanded its production capacity with a modern wine factory adjacent to Chateau Mere. Today, the assortment includes 15 unique wine varieties, produced using both traditional Georgian and classic European techniques. The winery is renowned for its consistent quality and unique, authentic packaging. With a strong focus on stability and innovation, the company has positioned itself as an ambassador of Georgian wine on the international market. Winiveria’s wines are beloved worldwide and are exported to more than 15 countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, Norway, Australia, the US, China, and Russia. The growing popularity of Winiveria highlights the international recognition of Georgian wines and their unique flavor profiles.
