Description
Wine House
Voskevaz Winery is situated in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia, in the eponymous village of “Voskevaz,” meaning “golden bunch” in Armenian. The hilly landscape surrounding Armenia’s highest peak, Mount Aragats, is truly breathtaking and diverse, bearing the cultural traces of the ancient Armenian civilization. Just a few kilometers away from the vineyard, on the edge of the picturesque gorge of the Kasakh River, lie the remains of the church “Badali Jam,” constructed between the 5th and 7th centuries. In the nearby vicinity, fragments of karases (Armenian clay amphorae) have been discovered, buried in the ground to age the wine. Founded in 1932, Voskevaz Winery has preserved many of its authentic elements with care, including the distinctive buildings, despite incorporating modern innovations. The winery’s roots are deeply intertwined with the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.
