The vines, rooted in this soil for 30 to 40 years, tell the story of authenticity and tradition. With a careful selection of two indigenous grape varieties, ‘Voskéhat’ and ‘Garandmak’, Zorah Voski embraces the essence of Armenian viticulture. No artificial additives are used here; only natural yeasts to preserve the true taste of the grapes. Zorah is the brainchild of Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian whose academic journey took him through Venice and Milan before embarking on a remarkable career in the world of fashion. Despite his solid foundation based on tradition, innovation, and excellence, his life’s path took an unexpected turn in the 2000s towards his deepest passion: wine. Gharibian saw only one course ahead, leading back to the land of his ancestors. Amidst majestic, snow-capped mountains, he planted vineyards at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, in the idyllic village of Rind. This village is nestled in the heart of Yeghegnadzor, the epicenter of grape cultivation in Armenia. Here, he dedicated himself entirely to creating wines that embody his philosophy: modern yet infused with deeply rooted traditional influences. Zorah’s extensive, ungrafted vineyard area spans 40 hectares and is situated on rocky, limestone-rich soils. Carefully selected indigenous grape varieties, sourced from abandoned vineyards near a 13th-century monastery, thrive in this region. Long, dry summers characterized by intense sunshine and high daytime temperatures, followed by cool nights, define the climate here. These climatic nuances result in an extended growing season that stretches until late October.
