Koncho Kindzmarauli 2021

Experience Authentic Georgian Wine with Koncho Kindzmarauli. This exquisite red wine comes from the Kakheti region, nestled in the picturesque valleys along the Alazani and Iori rivers at the foot of the majestic Caucasus Mountains in eastern Georgia. Koncho Kindzmarauli is crafted exclusively from the native Saperavi grape, a unique Georgian variety celebrated for its intense deep red color and robust flavor. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with grape clusters carefully selected to ensure that only the ripest and healthiest grapes are used. This meticulous selection results in a quality wine with a refined aroma and a balanced taste. After destemming, the grapes are gently peeled and pressed, marking the beginning of a controlled fermentation process. During this process, the young wine, also called matchari, is cooled to retain its natural sugars, giving the wine a subtle sweetness. The low fermentation temperature preserves the grape’s authentic fruity character, resulting in a pleasant and rounded flavor. With an alcohol content of 13%, Koncho Kindzmarauli offers a harmonious balance between strength and softness, creating a true sensation on the palate.

This wine is a genuine reflection of Georgia’s rich wine traditions and offers a unique wine experience. Order your bottle today and savor the authentic taste of Georgia!

Taste character Koncho Kindzmarauli

The Koncho Kindzmarauli stands out with its deep garnet-red color and a subtle red sheen. This rich color is characteristic of wines from the Kindzmarauli region, making the wine particularly appealing in the glass. In terms of taste, it offers a complex and refined profile with pronounced aromas of red berries and cherries. The wine’s full-bodied, fruity character is complemented by a delicate balance between sweetness and acidity, creating a harmonious combination that gives it a smooth, pleasant finish that lingers on the palate.

Koncho Kindzmarauli is a versatile wine that pairs wonderfully with various dishes. Its subtle sweetness and rich aromas make it an ideal match for roasted meats, such as lamb, duck, and grilled chicken. It also pairs beautifully with aged, salty cheeses, as the salty notes in the cheese harmonize with the wine’s fruity aromas. Additionally, this Georgian wine is perfect as an aperitif or paired with sweeter dishes, such as a light, fruity dessert. Try it with a dessert featuring red fruits to fully enhance its flavor profile. To enjoy the wine at its best, it’s recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16–18°C, as this brings out its fruity aromas and the delicate balance of sweetness and acidity. Store the wine in a cool, dark place to preserve its quality.

Winery

Koncho and Company LLC, established on September 18, 2001, by JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli, is a renowned wine producer with deep historical roots. The company is dedicated to creating and selling wines of exceptional quality. The name “Koncho” is inspired by an ancient Georgian word meaning “cross,” which is also the origin of the family name Konchoshvili. This family has been involved in winemaking since 1737. It was Kakhaber Konchoshvili, the court winemaker of King Teimuraz II of Kakheti, who established a wine cellar during that time, specializing in traditional Kakhetian wines and chacha, the Georgian brandy. This cellar remained operational until the end of the twentieth century, originally located in the village of Sabue and later in Kvareli.

With the founding of Koncho and Company LLC, this impressive legacy continues, emphasizing the preservation of authentic Georgian wine traditions. The company owns outstanding vineyards in the traditional microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli, carefully chosen for their rich soil. These vineyards are situated on land once traversed by the Duruji River, benefiting from a unique soil structure with black slate and a high concentration of carbonates at depths of 8 to 10 meters. This gives Koncho and Company’s wines a distinct character, making them beloved by quality Georgian wine enthusiasts worldwide.
