Wine House
Located in the Armavir region of Armenia, Karas Wines encompasses a vast estate spanning 400 hectares adorned with picturesque vineyards. From the lookout point, you can relish breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Ararat, and right next to the vineyards lies a modern-equipped winery. Karas Wines offers plenty of conversation fodder while savoring a glass of Karas wine. Karas Wines is the brainchild of a family that sought to rekindle its deep-rooted ties to the ancestral homeland, revive age-old traditions, and also commit to sustainable ecosystems and biodiversity. Eduardo Eurnekian and Juliana del Aguila Eurnekian, uncle and niece, are the driving forces behind the premium vineyard property Bodega Del Fin Del Mundo in Neuquén, Argentina. Together, they have been making wine for over a decade in Patagonia, a region renowned for its wines with a unique appellation of origin. Together, they are dedicated to the Karas project in Armavir, where the volcanic terroir is equally unique. Winemaker and sommelier Juliana took her first steps in the world of wine years ago under the guidance of one of the world’s foremost mentors, Michel Rolland. Together, they embarked on this special project, with innovation and environmental consciousness at its core. They are convinced that Karas will build bridges between Armenia and the rest of the world. In the volcanic soil of the Ararat Valley, Karas Winery cultivates a remarkable 30 local and international grape varieties. The extensive range of grape varieties thriving in Karas Wines’ vineyards includes Kangun, Rkatsiteli, Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc, Viognier, Areni, Khndoghni, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Tannat, Petit Verdot, Ancellotta, Montepulciano, and 20 other varieties. The dedicated team at Karas Wines produces exquisite red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines from these diverse grape varieties.
