Gašper Salpa 2023

Gašper Salpa is a refined Slovenian white wine that will captivate the senses of every wine lover. This wine comes from the famous Goriska Brda region, located in the west of Slovenia, near the Italian border. This region is known for its unique climate and diverse soils, which contribute to the production of some of the best wines in Slovenia. The Salpa is a splendid example of the terroir of Goriska Brda and a showcase of Slovenian winemaking artistry. This exquisite white wine is a carefully crafted blend of three excellent grape varieties: 34% Chardonnay, 34% Sauvignon Vert, and 32% Rebula (Ribolla Gialla). The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards on the terraces of Goriska Brda. The microclimate – a harmonious blend of warm sea air and fresh mountain air from the Alps – provides the ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen and develop their rich flavors to the fullest.

The fermentation of Gašper Salpa takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 14°C. This method preserves the freshness and delicate aromas of the wine, while allowing the full flavors to shine through. The aging in stainless steel results in a pure and clean taste, without the influence of oak, so the focus is on the fruity and floral notes. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, Gašper Salpa is a well-balanced and pleasant wine that is perfect in its elegance, without being too heavy.

By choosing Gašper Salpa, you are not only tasting a wine of exceptional quality but also a piece of the unique terroir of Goriska Brda, which puts Slovenia on the international wine map. Don’t wait any longer and discover this extraordinary wine for yourself.

Description

Producer

Gašper Čarman, the owner of Gasper Wines, is one of the most prominent wine experts in Slovenia. He won the title of Best Sommelier of Slovenia twice (2013 and 2015), achieved the prestigious WSET Level 4 diploma, and is currently in his second year of the renowned Master of Wine program. For him, learning is a continuous process; even after 14 years in the wine world, he remains fascinated by new discoveries. From a young age, Gašper was surrounded by wine and gastronomy. Growing up in the family business – the restaurant Danilo – gostilna & vinoteka in Reteče – he developed his passion for wine. In 2004, he took his first steps as an independent entrepreneur in wine sales. What started as a small garage business quickly grew into a successful online wine shop and a flourishing distribution network for both private and business clients.

In 2013, he launched his own wine brand: Gasper Wines. For Gašper, wine is about the experience in the glass, more than the story behind it. A first impression can lead to a long-lasting relationship with a wine or just a fleeting encounter. This idea was central to the creation of Gasper Wines. The wines are produced in collaboration with Klet Goriška Brda, one of the largest Slovenian wine cooperatives. Thanks to this partnership, the recognition of Gasper Wines continues to grow, both in Slovenia and internationally. Gasper Wines embody the character of the unique terroir of Goriška Brda and are designed with the wine lover in mind.
