Chateau Kefraya Special Cuvee Amphora 2018
Château Kefraya Special Cuvée Amphora is an exceptional red wine from Lebanon, originating from the renowned Bekaa Valley, a region celebrated for its rich winemaking tradition and unique terroir for centuries. This wine is a tribute to the age-old art of winemaking and is crafted with passion by Château Kefraya, one of the country’s most prestigious wineries. The blend of four distinctive grape varieties – Cinsaut, Syrah, Carignan, and Tempranillo – creates a harmonious complexity and elegance. What truly sets this wine apart is its aging in amphorae, traditional clay vessels dating back to Phoenician times. This technique allows the pure expression of the terroir to shine, delivering exceptional texture and finesse without letting oak dominate the flavor. The result is a wine of deep complexity, subtle spiciness, and elegant body. With an alcohol content of around 14%, it offers a rich mouthfeel and refined structure, perfectly balanced.
Château Kefraya Special Cuvée Amphora is the ideal choice for wine enthusiasts seeking unique, authentic Lebanese wines, crafted with respect for traditional techniques combined with modern refinement. Discover this remarkable wine and let yourself be carried away by the essence of the Bekaa Valley.

The finish is long and elegant, with a refined note of cinnamon that perfectly rounds off the experience. Château Kefraya Special Cuvée Amphora is a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with grilled or braised meats, such as leg of lamb or beef, game dishes, spiced Mediterranean cuisine, and flavorful cheeses. It is recommended to decant for 30 minutes, allowing its aromas to fully develop and revealing every facet of this extraordinary cuvée.

Description
Winery
Located in the beautiful West Bekaa Valley, Château Kefraya has been the proud property of the Bustros family for generations. The château, built starting in 1946, rests on an artificial hill that was used centuries ago by the Romans to observe troop movements. Founder and visionary Michel de Bustros undertook large-scale efforts to plant vineyards on these magnificent slopes. The first vines were planted in 1951, and despite the challenges of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), Château Kefraya began producing its own wines in 1979, made entirely from grapes grown in its own vineyards and vinified in its own cellar.
In the early 1980s, the wines “Les Coteaux de Kefraya” 1982 and 1983 won their first international awards, after which Château Kefraya began exporting to France. In 1997, American wine critic Robert Parker rated the Comte de M 1996 with 91/100, calling it “an incredible achievement for Lebanon.” Today, Château Kefraya wines are available in more than 40 countries across five continents.
