Chateau Kefraya Rouge 2018

Chateau Kefraya Rouge is a beautiful Lebanese red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cinsaut varieties. The wine is macerated for 2 to 3 weeks and after fermentation the wine is aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. The wine also had a few months of amphora aging.

The taste character of Chateau Kefraya Rouge

The wine is deep cherry red in the glass with purple reflections. The aromas are intense and complex with hints of undergrowth and sandalwood, pepper and leather, fresh red fruits, ripe strawberries and menthol, violets, coffee and licorice. The tannins are particularly soft   with beautiful long-lasting floral aromas of Carmenère in the aftertaste.

Before serving, we recommend decanting the Chateau Kefraya Rouge for about 30 minutes. The wine is a perfect complement to delicately cooked meat, game, lamb or soft cheese.

Description

Chateau Kefraya

The Chateau Kefraya winery is located in the Bekaa Valley, 1000 meters above sea level. This is the main wine region of Lebanon, where quite a lot of quality wines are created. Since the times of the Phoenicians, this area has been considered fertile and very suitable for grape growing and viticulture. The vines grow in the sun-drenched, non-irrigated vineyards, where the soil is very diverse and rich in Clay-limestone, chalk, sand and gravel soils. Compared to the rest of the country, the climate here is moderate. Significant temperature differences between day and night ensure slow development and perfect ripening of the grapes.
