Chateau Kefraya Les Bretèches White 2021

Chateau Kefraya Les Bretèches White  is an impressive Lebanese blend of Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat blanc. The wine is developed in a beautiful way. First of all, the grapes are naturally picked. Then the grape skins are macerated. This process often takes several days, after complete maceration the grapes are pressed by a pneumatic press. The leftover juice is prepared for debourbage. This is a process that removes the solid particles in the wine. For example, the seeds and other impurities. After debourbage, there is a period where the juice is refrigerated. (often at a temperature of about 8 degrees). This wine is then fermented in wine barrels at a fixed temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. After fermentation, the white wine is further stabilized and prepared for consumption.

Description

Winery

The large estate of Château Kefraya is located in the West Bekaa Valley, which has been the property of the Bustros family for generations. The castle was built from 1946 on an artificial hill that was used centuries ago by the Romans to observe their troop movements.
The first vines were planted in 1951 and 1979. Despite the Lebanese civil war between 1975-1990, the family has managed to produce quality wine with its own grapes from its own vineyards. In the years 1982 and 1983 “Les Coteaux de Kefraya” wines won the first international medals and Château Kefraya began to export its wines to France.
In 1997, American wine critic Robert Parker awarded “Comte de M 1996”  91 out of 100 points, qualifying it as “A great achievement in Lebanon”.
Today Château Kefraya is present in more than 40 countries on the five continents.
