Chateau Kefraya Coteaux 2019

A full-bodied red wine; that is the Chateau Kefraya Coteaux. This red wine owes its taste to a wide variety of different grapes: Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet- Franc, Tempranillo, Marselan. Perfect to combine with a delicious piece of beef, pork or lamb and also tasteful with a piece of Roquefort. This Lebanese wine is also completely vegan and has already won awards.

A rich history

As one of the originally produced wines of Chateau Kefraya it was always a bit of a wait, but on the basis of this wine Kefraya proves to be able to make very good wines. The notes within this wine are somewhat like vanilla, coffee and smoke.

Perfect combinations

This Coteaux is a translation of a look at wine history. Back to the past; the wine is slightly different, but the emotion during the wine process is exactly the same. This winery is very passionate.

Description

The Terroir

Chateau Kefraya ‘s vineyards stretch over slopes in the Bekaa Valley, which are 1000 meters above the Mediterranean Sea. The soil here is rich in Clay-limestone, chalk as well as sandy and gravelly soils. The vines grow in the sun-drenched vineyards and are not irrigated. Significant temperature differences between day and night ensure perfect ripening of the grapes and optimal harvesting conditions.

In addition to soil diversity, Château Kefraya uses a wide and exciting range of grape varieties in its blends, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier, Carménère, Marselan and Muscat à Petits Grains.
In addition, Chateau Kefraya also grows native varieties such as Obeidi, Merwah and Mekssessé (white grapes) and also revives old Lebanese red grapes such as Assouad Karech and Asmi Noir.
All wines from the winery are vegan. Much of the vineyard is already certified organic.
A sustainable winegrowing policy allows the vines to flourish, while respecting the expression of the terroir.
