Chateau Kefraya Blanc de Blancs 2022

Château Kefraya Blanc de Blancs is a refined, dry white wine from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, one of the oldest and most prestigious wine regions in the Middle East. This unique blend combines carefully selected grape varieties: Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Petits Grains, Clairette, Verdejo, and Chardonnay, resulting in a wine of great complexity and elegance. The grapes first undergo a delicate destemming, followed by a brief skin maceration to fully develop their aromas and flavors. They are then gently pressed, and the best fractions undergo a static settling at 5°C. This meticulous vinification produces a dry, balanced white wine with a refined character and an alcohol content of approximately 13%.

Château Kefraya Blanc de Blancs enchants with its harmonious mix of floral and fruity nuances and is a true discovery for those seeking an elegant and distinctive white wine.

Flavor Character Chateau Kefraya Blanc de Blancs

In the glass, this Lebanese wine shines with a bright yellow color and subtle silver reflections. Its aroma is intense and complex, with delicate floral notes of linden blossom, verbena, acacia, and lily, enriched by fruity hints of apricot, peach, mango, and a subtle touch of honey. On the palate, it is silky, fresh, and aromatic, with the floral accents harmoniously blending with exotic and mineral nuances. The finish is long, refined, and elegant, giving the wine a distinctive finesse.

Château Kefraya Blanc de Blancs is an exceptionally versatile dry white wine that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. It is an ideal companion to the refined flavors of Lebanese mezze, such as hummus, tabbouleh, or baba ganoush, but it also complements delicate fish dishes like smoked salmon, grilled or poached shellfish, and poached fish in light sauces. The wine also enhances the flavors of goat cheese and other soft cheeses, with its fresh, floral, and mineral notes harmoniously merging with the food. To fully appreciate its complex aromas and refined flavors, it is recommended to serve the wine lightly chilled, around 8°C.

Description

Winery

The sprawling estate of Château Kefraya is located in the enchanting West Bekaa Valley and has been owned by the Bustros family for generations. The château, built from 1946 onwards, rests on an artificial hill that was used centuries ago by the Romans to observe troop movements, giving the estate a rich historical background. The first vines were planted in 1951 and 1979, and despite the challenges of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), the family managed to produce high-quality wines from grapes grown in their own vineyards. In 1982 and 1983, the wines of Les Coteaux de Kefraya were awarded their first international medals, after which Château Kefraya began exporting its wines to France. Today, Château Kefraya’s wines are represented in more than 40 countries across all five continents and enjoy international recognition for their quality and character.
