Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto is a delicious Portuguese red wine with an alcohol content of 14%. The wine is a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Petite Syrah, Petit Verdot grapes. The grapes are hand-picked and go into small containers. It is then aged for 12 months in 300 liter French oak barrels. The wine comes from the Alentejo region with a compelling taste that leaves a trace in the memory. Meet this beauty, now available to order through our webshop.

Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto has a deep ruby ​​red color in the glass. Deep and very complex with notes of macerated wild fruit, fresh marmalade, tar, spices and a vegetal touch. Rich but satisfying tannins, strength, elegance and personality with a long finish. Still quite young, it is a very expressive, robust and serious red wine, pure and without artifice. The wine goes perfectly with intense soft cheeses, long-aged Iberian ham, lamb roasted in a clay pot, sirloin steak with pepper sauce, steak on a stone. Serve between 17ºC and 18ºC.

The Wine House

Since the first harvest, the winery has received several national and international awards and accolades. In 2018, the first single variety was launched, recognized nationally and internationally for its excellent quality, giving rise to the first Fallow “Alicante Boushet”. In 2019, the brands “Quatro Caminhos”, “Pousio Selection”, “Pousio Escolha”, “Pousio Reserva” and Premium red “Marmelar” were sold. “Pousio Arinto” also followed, with a lot of freshness and notes of grapefruit. Herdade do Monte da Ribeira’s strategy is focused on the production and marketing of its own wine cellar, based on its increasingly high-quality vines.

The ambition is always to produce the best wines.
