Winery
Voskevaz is a renowned winery located in the picturesque Aragatsotn region, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Aragats in Armenia. At Voskevaz, the creation of exceptional wines is paramount, embodying not only the rich history but also the unique terroir of this area. The vineyards are situated in an enchanting location known as the “Golden Forest,” which is the meaning behind the name Voskevaz. For generations, grapes have been cultivated on this historic site. During explorations of the area, ancient clay amphorae, known as karases, were discovered. These amphorae, used for winemaking, were found near the remains of a 7th-century church, which happens to be located next to the winery.
A new era for Voskevaz began in 2004 when David Hovhannisyan, a passionate Armenian entrepreneur, decided to revitalize his birthplace. Together with his brothers, Gago and Armen, he returned to Armenia after many years abroad. The trio joined forces and invested heavily in Voskevaz, with the goal of restoring the winery to its former glory. At Voskevaz, traditional winemaking methods are combined with modern techniques to create wines of unparalleled quality. The dedicated winemakers carefully select the finest grapes from the surrounding vineyards and process them in the winery’s state-of-the-art facilities. The result is an impressive collection of wines that perfectly reflect the unique characteristics of the Aragatsotn region.
