Quinta do Piloto Moscatel Roxo 2016, made from the grape variety Moscatel de Setúbal Roxo, comes directly from the Penísula Setúbal wine region and has an alcohol content of 17%. This beautiful Portuguese dessert wine is prepared according to the production method of Port, which also results in sweet wines, whose alcoholic fermentation is interrupted by the addition of wine alcohol.
Quinta do Piloto Moscatel Roxo undergoes pellicular maceration. The crushed grapes are soaked in the must for a number of hours, in order to obtain extra aroma and flavor from the skins. After the pellicular maceration, the moscatel wine is placed in barrels for maturation and refinement of its rich aromatic profile.

Moscatel Roxo is a wine with a topaz color, with greenish reflections. Mandarin notes, roses, honey and hazelnuts on the nose. A challenging full-bodied wine, with an excellent balance between sweet and sour and great persistence on the palate.
The wine goes perfectly with desserts such as fresh fruit cakes and fruit compotes. You can also combine this delicious dessert wine with a cheese board. The wine can be served both chilled and at 18 degrees Celsius, it just depends on what you like best.

Quinta do Piloto is located in the Palmela region and belongs to the Cardoso family. The Cardoso family is one of the oldest families in Palmela, with a connection to wine since the beginning of the last century. Humberto Cardoso was the founder of this house, he is currently the 4th generation to insure and manage the company’s destinations.
