About Chateau Kefraya

In the western Bekaa Valley is the great winery Château Kefraya, which has been owned by the Bustros family for generations. The castle was built in 1946 on an artificial hill. These hills were used by the Romans centuries ago to observe their troop movements.
Despite the civil war in Lebanon between 1951 and 1979, the Bustros family decided to plant their first vines between 1975-1990. They have succeeded in producing quality wine with their own grapes from their own vineyards. In 1982 and 1983, the winery received the first international medals for the wine “Les Coteaux de Kefraya”. Since then, Château Kefraya began to export its wines to France.
In 1997, American wine critic Robert Parker awarded the “Comte de M 1996” with 91 points out of 100, qualifying it as “a great achievement in Lebanon”.
Château Kefraya currently exports to more than 40 countries on five continents.
