About the winery
The winery Château des Anglades benefits from a unique terroir thanks to a defining maritime influence and a very interesting soil structure. Shale and clay form the soil of the wine region, which makes it possible to obtain high-quality wines.
The Château des Anglades was founded in 1852 by the Marquis de Gairoird, who was the largest landowner and creator of the region’s first wine estate.
The abandoned Château de Gairoird and the estate were discovered by the GAUTIER family, who started a major project to rebuild the estate. In 2018, the Château des Anglades decided to convert the entire vineyard to organic farming.
