Winery
With a deep-rooted connection to the ancient Georgian wine tradition, Koncho and Company LLC was founded on September 18, 2001, by JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli. From the outset, the company has focused on producing and selling wines of exceptional quality. The name “Koncho” comes from the ancient Georgian word for “cross” and is also the foundation of the family name Konchoshvili. This family has a long history in winemaking, dating back to 1737, when Kakhaber Konchoshvili, the court winemaker of King Teimuraz II of Kakheti, established his wine cellar. Here, traditional wines from Kakheti and the famous Georgian brandy, chacha, were produced. The cellar remained active until the end of the 20th century, initially located in the village of Sabue and later in Kvareli.
The founding of Koncho and Company LLC was a natural continuation of this historical tradition, with the aim of preserving the authentic Georgian wine culture and providing the world with wines of the highest quality. The company manages some of the most prestigious vineyards in the classic wine regions of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli, located on fertile land where the Duruji River once flowed. The presence of black slate and a high concentration of carbonates at a depth of 8-10 meters underground contributes to the distinctive taste and unique character of the wines, which stand out within Georgian wine production.
