Tbilvino Rkatsiteli 2020

Tbilvino Rkatsiteli is an excellent wine from Georgia, coming from the renowned wine region of Kakheti, located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains. This wine perfectly represents the ancient Georgian winemaking tradition. The Rkatsiteli grape variety, one of the oldest in the country, is known for its versatility and ability to create unique flavor profiles. After harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 12-14°C. Thanks to these modern vinification techniques, the fresh and fruity character of the grape is preserved. No oak aging is applied, allowing the wine to retain its pure, clean flavors – a hallmark of the Rkatsiteli. With an alcohol content of around 12%, this wine offers a refined and refreshing taste. Tbilvino Rkatsiteli is a perfect introduction to the Georgian wine world, offering an authentic and pure experience of the Georgian terroir.

Description

Winery

During the Soviet Union period, Tbilvino was one of the largest and most influential wine producers in Georgia, known for its wines that were highly valued both locally and internationally. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, however, the winery faced difficult times that threatened its long-standing tradition. The turning point came when two brothers took over the management. They were determined to revive the valuable wine traditions of their ancestors and chose to reapply traditional and authentic production methods. By focusing on the fundamentals of Georgian winemaking and combining them with modern techniques, they succeeded in revitalizing the winery and enhancing the quality of the wines. Today, Tbilvino’s wines are recognized for their excellent quality, authenticity, and ability to perfectly capture the unique character of the Georgian terroir, both within Georgia and on the international market.
