Koncho Aleksandrouli 2021

Koncho Aleksandrouli is a refined red wine from the prestigious Georgian wine region of Kakheti, which is world-renowned for its rich wine traditions. This wine is made from 100% Aleksandrouli grapes, an indigenous variety originating from the mountainous region of Racha. The result is a wine with a refined and fruity flavor profile. The wine is produced according to the traditional European method, with fermentation and aging taking place in stainless steel tanks, with a light oak aging to add depth and complexity. This process ensures that the fresh, fruity notes of the wine are preserved, while subtle hints of oak enhance the flavor. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, Koncho Aleksandrouli offers a beautiful balance between elegance and structure. For those seeking an authentic Georgian red wine that is both refined and characterful, this wine is an excellent choice!

Taste Character Koncho Aleksandrouli

Koncho Aleksandrouli has a beautiful deep red color with a refined aroma of ripe cherries, complemented by subtle spices. The taste is full and smooth, with a lovely balance between fruity richness and a light tannin structure. The elegant acidity gives the wine a fresh and lively character, reminiscent of a full-bodied Pinot Noir. This versatile red wine pairs perfectly with a wide range of dishes. It goes well with white meats such as chicken, turkey, and pork, as well as light vegetable dishes like grilled vegetables and fresh salads. Additionally, this wine is an excellent choice for pasta and risotto, both with creamy or tomato-based sauces. The fresh acidity and fruity notes also make it a delightful wine to enjoy on its own, for example, with a drink or light snacks. For the best experience, it is recommended to serve the wine between 14-16°C, so that the aromas can fully shine.

Description

Winery

Koncho and Company LLC was founded on September 18, 2001, by JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli and has deep roots in Georgian winemaking tradition. The company focuses on producing and selling wines of exceptional quality. The name “Koncho” is derived from the ancient Georgian word for “cross” and is also the origin of the Konchoshvili family name. The family itself has a rich winemaking history that dates back to 1737, when Kakhaber Konchoshvili, the royal winemaker of King Teimuraz II of Kakheti, established his first wine cellar. In this cellar, traditional Kakhetian wines and chacha were produced. The family wine cellar remained active until the end of the 20th century, first in the village of Sabue and later in Kvareli. The founding of Koncho and Company LLC was a continuation of this centuries-old winemaking tradition, with the aim of preserving authentic Georgian wine culture and providing wine lovers around the world with products of the highest quality. The company owns vineyards in the famous microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli. These vineyards are located on fertile soils that were once irrigated by the Duruji River. The presence of black slate and a high concentration of carbonates at a depth of 8-10 meters below the surface contribute to the unique character and distinctive taste of Koncho and Company’s wines, which hold an important place in the Georgian wine industry.
