Arrival in Yerevan
Arrival in Yerevan. Meet & transfer to the hotel for check in. Evening walking city tour over the city center including Republic Square, Opera House, Northern Avenue, Cascade Complex. Dinner at Wine Republic Bar restaurant.
Yerevan City Tour– Yerevan Brandy Factory- Megerian Carpet
Breakfast at the hotel. Short Yerevan City tour – Yerevan sightseeing, including City center, Republic square, State University, City panorama, Mother Armenia Monument, Parliament, President’s Residence, Opera, Sports & Concert Complex, Genocide memorial complex. Visit Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan, with art pieces displayed throughout the whole area: the boulevard and up the stairs,from top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view on the city and Mountain Ararat. Cascade is home to Cafesjian modern art museum. Then visit Yerevan Brandy factory, where you can see the oldest Armenian barrels produced and the awards that Ararat has won down through the decades. Visit includes a cognac tasting.
Dinner at “Megerian Carpet” to be acquainted also with the history of armenian carpet waving.Overnight at hotel in Yerevan.
Yerevan– Khor Virap– Areni Cave– Trinity Canyon Vineyard– Zorah Winery– Noravank- Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Khor Virap Monastery. To this day you can visit the underground chamber where St. Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenia’s Patriarch, was imprisoned for 13 years before curing King Trdat III of a disease. This caused the conversion of the king and Armenia into the first officially Christian nation in the world in the year 301. Its location, near the closest point to Mount Ararat within Armenian borders, offers a spectacular view of the mountain, the national symbol of Armenia. Then we will drive to Areni 1 Cave, the world’s oldest winery over 6100 years old. Visit Trinity Canyon Vineyard. Visit Zorah Winery in the village Rind. Proceed to Noravank Monastery (13-14th centuries), an architectural gemstone nestled among brick-red cliffs, just above a deep gorge. Drive back to Yerevan. Dinner at local restaurant with folklore show.
Yerevan– Van Ardi Winery- ArmAs Winery-Saghmosavank- Voskevaz Winery- Amberd–Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. We will take our direction out of the capital city, to the Northern part of Armenia. On the way visit Van Ardi Winery and then ArmAs Winery. Then visit Saghmosavank Monastery located in village Saghmosavan at the top the precipitous gorge carved by the Kasagh river and built at the beginning of the XIII by Prince Vache Vachutian.
Visit Voskevaz Winery to taste armenian vintage wines. Continue trip to the highest mountain of Armenia Aragats (4090 m) to visit Amberd Fortress a midcentury fort-city built during the X century. Drive back to Yerevan.
Yerevan- Echmiadzin– Zvartnots– Voskeni Winery- Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Echmiadzin town, the Holy See of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Visit St. Hripsime Church built in the 7th century and is considered a masterpiece of early medieval Armenian architecture. Continue to Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral. Historically, it is the focal point of the town of Echmiadzin, and it’s the oldest church in the world. It was originally built by Saint Gregory the Illuminator as a vaulted basilica in 301-303A.D., when Armenia was the only country in the world the state religion of which was Christianity. Visit the Ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral. Zvartnots, built as Armenia’s main cathedral in 641- 661A.D. was to suppress the Echmiadzin Cathedral by its grandeur. The remnants of Zvartnots, even in ruins, are a majestic sight. The Ruins of Zvartnots are listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit Voskeni Winery. Drive back to Yerevan.
Yerevan – Gevorkian Winery- Garni – Geghard- Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. On our way visit Gevorkian Winery in Avan. Drive to the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun –Myrth, in Garni, built in 77 AD by King Trdat. Photo stop at Charentc Arc. Drive to the unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13th cc.), the name of which means “holy spear” in the honor of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ. It is now exhibited in the museum of Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Geghard Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list (2000). Dinner at local restaurant with folklore show. Overnight at hotel in Yerevan.
Yerevan– Lake Sevan– Tsaghkadzor– Dilijan- Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tsaghkadzor (means “gorge of flowers”), the magical place of forested mountains. Opportunity to go up to the mountain peaks by rope way, where you will catch an unforgettable gorgeous panoramic view of this part of the world from Teghenis Mountain. In winter Tsakhkadzor is a well-known ski resort with several levels of ropeways leading up the mountains. In summer it’s a pleasant place to spend the afternoon in nature and enjoy the sun. Then drive to Sevan Lake, which is the largest body of water in Armenia and Caucasus region, then visit Sevanavank monastery located on the peak of Sevan peninsula.
Drive to Dilijan, wich is a spa resort town surrounded by mountains and forests full of cultural, historical, natural, and religious sites. With an alpine climate, the town is a popular destination in Armenia and offers plenty of activities. It is famous for its amazing surroundings, called the “Armenian Switzerland” by the locals. In the upper reaches of the Agstev river, there are Haghartsin and Goshavank, the monastery ensembles of the Dilijan district. Dinner at Carahunge restaurant.

Travel advice Armenia
Travelers do not need to have vaccines. Armenia is a safe and very welcoming country. Drinkrituals monitors the current situation in Armenia and keeps you up to date on any developments regarding the travel advice.
Travel and cancellation insurance
Travel and cancellation insurance are not included in the wine tour. This means you do are not making any additional costs when you already have a travel insurance.
Composition of tour groups
The tour will take place only when the minimum of four participants is reached. The group size varies between 4 and 25 persons.
The price of the plane ticket is not included. Tickets will be booked when a group is complete. Flights can be booked from Amsterdam, Dusseldorf or Brussels. The terms are always discussed extensively with the travelers before the actual booking.
Double or single room
Prices are calculated per person per room for a double room. If you are travelling alone, you have the option to share the room with a fellow traveler. In case you do not wish to share the room, an additional €125, – will be charged for a single room.
Included in the group tour
Accommodation for seven nights (breakfast included), eight lunches, six dinners in local restaurants, tickets to visit all mentioned monuments, tickets to all mentioned wineries, ropeway ticket in Tsaghkadzor, wine tour in English with a professional guide.
